DANNY SCOTT

With a football-loving English teacher as a dad, my youth was dominated by the beautiful game and books. Not a lot has changed since then. 

 

In recent years, my love of sport has spurred me to volunteer for a social enterprise working to improve literacy levels in young football players, and to work for the Scottish Book Trust – a charity changing lives through reading and writing.

When I'm not enjoying the magic of writing children’s books, I play in goals for Scottish Writers F.C.. It’s not quite the same as playing for the actual Scotland team, but it comes a close second.

I live in Edinburgh with my wife Jess, our children and Loretta the dog.
